Hi, I’m Janet Cole, co-owner of Steel and Grain TX.
Together with my husband, Jay, we’re excited to share our journey with you.

For five years, we ran a gym in Peaster, TX, before deciding it was time for a change. As our daughter prepared for college, we sold the gym—Jay started JC Handyman, and I followed my passion for woodworking through Steel and Grain TX.

Our daily work may look different now, but we’re still a team. Whether I’m helping on a handyman project or Jay’s lending a hand in the shop, we’re in it together.

Steel and Grain TX started with custom furniture, but I soon fell in love with creating one-of-a-kind wood pieces. Guided by the motto “Create Beautiful Things,” I design everything from custom signs and inlay cutting boards to unique wood art—each made with care and creativity to bring warmth and character into your home.
